Architectural and Engineering Design
Combex Westhem maintains a design staff including a full-time
registered architect and a consulting engineer to assist clients in
developing their building designs to take maximum advantage of our
Thermcore™ panel and sheathing products. We work closely with our
clients’ own architects and engineers to provide technical information
on product specifications and capabilities as well as connection and
fastening requirements.
Technical and Shop Drawings
In cases where clients have their own building plans, we provide
shop drawings and technical details to enable the builder to easily
substitute our Thermcore™ panel and sheathing products for the
conventional walls and roofs. All our panel drawings identify
each panel in a wall or roof layout by panel type using a panel
identifier system that corresponds with the markings on the actual
panels to simplify panel staging and erection.
Training and Technical Support
Combex Westhem provides training, both on-site and in the plant,
for contractors, builders, subcontractors and their crews in the proper
methods of erecting and installing our Thermcore™ panel and sheathing
products. Proper installation techniques enable the builder and
subcontractors to take maximum advantage of the construction velocity
benefits of using our building systems and help ensure that the
buildings will be constructed according to plans and
specifications. A Panel Installation Manual containing detailed
installation instructions and construction details is provided with
each purchase of panels to be used in the construction of a
building. Offsite technical support is available by phone, fax or
email to answer questions about product use and benefits and to
reinforce training.
Custom Cutting and Prefabrication
Panels may be field cut or Combex Westhem can provide custom panel
cutting to conform to plan requirements, including door and window
openings, angles or special shapes. Certain components, such as
corner sections, may be pre-assembled in the plant prior to shipment
upon customer request.
